Q: What is Qualifying Milk?

A. Nonfat, 1%, and 1% lactose free without flavoring, of any size.

 

Q: Who is eligible for Add Milk and where can it be earned/redeemed?

A. Any shopper that is currently receiving CalFresh EBT benefits. CalFresh EBT shoppers must purchase qualifying fluid milk using their CalFresh EBT benefits to receive an incentive equal to the value of qualifying fluid milk purchased.

 

Q. How do shoppers redeem Add Milk incentive?

A. Shoppers can redeem their incentives on any additional transaction (can be the same day, but needs to be a separate transaction). They can choose from any CalFresh EBT eligible item to redeem their incentive.

 

Q. Where is Add Milk available?

A. Add Milk is available in Alabama, Georgia, California, and South Dakota in select stores. However, shoppers can only redeem their incentives at the same store they earned the incentives or any other same-brand participating retail store.

 

Q. What can shoppers buy with Add Milk incentives?

Eligible products include CalFresh EBT eligible items such as:

  • Fruits and vegetables;
  • Meat, poultry, and fish;
  • Dairy products;
  • Breads and cereals;
  • Other foods such as snack foods and non-alcoholic beverages;
  • Seeds and plants, which produce food for the household to eat.

Products that are NOT eligible to redeem are:

  • Beer, wine, liquor, cigarettes, or tobacco
  • Vitamins, medicines, and supplements. If an item has a Supplement Facts label, it is considered a supplement and is not eligible for CalFresh EBT purchase.
  • Live animals (except shellfish, fish removed from water, and animals slaughtered prior to pick-up from the store).
  • Foods that are hot at the point of sale
  • Any nonfood items such as:
    • Pet foods
    • Cleaning supplies, paper products, and other household supplies.
    • Hygiene items, cosmetics

Q. Is there a limit on the amount of Add Milk incentives shoppers can redeem at one time?

A. There is no limit to the value of Add Milk incentives that can be redeemed in a transaction;).

 

Any additional unused incentive value will be stored on the stores POS system.

 

Q. Is there a limit on the amount of Add Milk incentives shoppers can earn at one time?

A. Shoppers can earn a maximum of $10 rewards per transaction.

 

Q. Do Add Milk rewards expire?

A. Rewards will expire 60 days from the date received.

 

Q. What if the Add rewards do not work?

Q. Why are Add Milk incentives only available to shoppers using CalFresh EBT?

A. Add Milk is a pilot program that is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). According to the federal guidelines, it is only available to shoppers using CalFresh EBT.
